Frequently asked questions

Why does image privacy matter?

Photos taken with phones often carry hidden metadata, including GPS coordinates of where the picture was taken, the device used and the exact time. When shared publicly, that data can reveal home addresses, schools and routines.

Are my files uploaded?

No. Every tool in this category runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas API and JavaScript libraries. Your images never leave your device.

What is EXIF data?

EXIF is a metadata format that cameras embed inside every photo: model, lens, ISO, date, orientation, colour profile and — most importantly for privacy — GPS coordinates.

Does removing metadata change image quality?

PNG output is lossless. JPG and WEBP are re-encoded at high quality and the difference is invisible.

Should I blur or pixelate sensitive content?

Pixelate (mosaic) is harder to reverse with image-processing software and is the safer option for faces, addresses or document text.
